Initially beginning as a garage rock group with metal and funk influences Transcend All Negative Energy has grown to become one of Southern Californias up and coming psychedelic rock musical projects. Led by Joey Tampico, the band incorporates electronic and pop mixed with 90s throwback grunge to achieve its eclectic sound. Sometimes abbreviated as T.A.N.E. for short, the group is influenced by artists such as Tame Impala, Radiohead, The Flaming Lips, The Beatles, and various hip hop acts.
From humble beginnings in 2015, the debut self-titled EP was released, which showcased a more straightforward garage rock version of the band. The two subsequent singles X-ploding and Stages of a Metamorphosis showed the band stepping into a different direction incorporating more synthesizers, vocal effects as well as hip hop/trap beats. On September 23rd 2017 the band released Chiaroscuro EP, further exploring the indie rock style. Sometime between the two EPs, John Tessin (referred to as Tessio by the band) was added to the lineup as the drummer, and Alex Martin became the bass player/back up vocalist.
After the second EP, the trio began venturing into psychedelic pop rock, having frontman Tampico alternate between keyboards and guitar at live shows due to having trouble finding a proper keyboard player. The constant switching off became a staple of T.A.N.E.s live act. The power trio is expected to release their highly anticipated full length debut album, Lovescapes, a personal reflection of Tampicos complicated love life and disastrous relationships, on Christmas day 2018.
